MB Fitness - Personal Training Background
Matt Brennan
I have always been heavily involved in sports through playing semi-professional football and refereeing. I also work for Ipswich Town Football Club as 1st Team Sports Massage Therapist.
My motivation for the work I do is helping clients to achieve their goals. This can be extremely satisfying, and I have been able to build up a good rapport with my clients, some of whom have been affiliated to the gyms over a number of years.
The aims and reasons my clients have for training with me are varied and include the following:
Progression: Preparing for a kickboxing tournament or marathon; Getting fit for a ski-ing holiday
Post-Injury/Trauma: RSI; Rehabilitation after an injury; Neuro rehabilitation
Health Issues: Tackling Obesity; Prevention of arthritis and osteoporosis; Addressing high blood pressure; Pre-Op health; Post-Op recovery; Ante natal health & fitness.
Self Confidence: Improving self-image

I qualified as a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist with Premier Training International Ltd in 2002. I went on to work as a PT with David Lloyd Leisure completing further qualifications with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
As a teenager I was overweight and not that physically active. I came to realise I had to do something about it and began exercising at home, using an old rowing machine, an exercise bike and some weights. I started going to my local gym and that’s when I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Health and Fitness. Today I work with clients to help them achieve their purpose, and job satisfaction is at a high.
I hold qualifications in: Personal Training (including circuit training and nutrition) & Sports Therapy (including sports massage and body massage)

I have always enjoyed keeping fit and taken part in most sports, especially football and boxing. Previously I boxed for Needham Market, and enjoyed keeping fit and meeting new people. So last year I chose to start a career in the fitness industry where I obtained my level 2 qualification through F.I.E., I have not looked back since. My first job in this industry is here at MB Fitness and Grange Fitness. I enjoy being part of the team and want to go as far as I can in my career. By training many different people, I hope to gain a greater understanding of how to help people reach their own personal goals.
I hold qualifications in: Level 2 fitness instruction Level 3, Health, Fitness and Lifestyle Analysis, Fully insured personal trainer and First aid.
